Be a Do Follow Blogger, Win a Grey’s Anatomy 2008 Calendar!

Related Posts: What is Do Follow? How does rel=nofollow impact my blog?

We can’t stress enough the importance of removing the rel=nofollow tag in blogs. We are very surprised that since the Do Follow movement took off earlier this year, we’re still seeing a huge number of blogs with the rel=nofollow tag. Most bloggers do not have any idea how it works and the value it adds to their blogs. That’s the very reason we came up with our own site to promote just that! We’re firm believers of the Do Follow and we have to keep it alive and going!

The Contest :

Simply become a DO FOLLOW BLOGGER! Remove the rel=nofollow tag on your template and put a “U Comment, I Follow” badge on your site. Submit your site to Blogs That Follow and then let us know that you did by leaving a comment here. And you’re done.

The contest will run for 4 weeks. Each week, we will pick out 2 lucky bloggers who will win a 2008 Grey’s Anatomy mini calendar! Depending on the responses we get, we may increase the number of winners when there are many entries for a particular week. The more Do Follow Bloggers, the more calendars we give out.

December 11 – 18 WEEK ONE

December 18 – 25 WEEK TWO

December 25 – January 1 WEEK THREE

January 1 -8 WEEK FOUR

We will contact the winner by email. Winner must be willing to give us a valid address (anywhere in the world) where we can send the actual calendar! (We value your privacy and we will never sell or submit your address to any entity. Once the contest is over, we will destroy the address records.)

Win This!

Grey’s front

Grey’s Anatomy Mini Calendar: Already a hit in 2005, Grey’s Anatomy took on a challenging and coveted Thursday night time slot for the 2006 and 2007 season. The result was a new king in primetime. Entertainment Weekly calls it “TV’s hottest show”. Great on your computer desk! (measure 6.8 x 6.7 x 0.1 inches)

While rel=nofollow was meant to be anti-spam, it sees every link as one! Why would we punish legitimate comments from NOT being indexed by search engines? Legit comments deserve the link love…

If you don’t remove the rel=no follow tag on your blog code, it means that every time someone leaves a comment on your site, the link stays there. It will not be crawled by Google or any other search engines. It will be ignored by them hence will not help in ranking the importance of that page. If you wrote a very helpful article and you got traffic and people commented on it yet you did not remove the rel=no follow, Google will simply ignore those comments which could have helped increased the ranking of that particular page.

Be a Do Follow Blogger. Get a badge and show it proudly on your blog site! Submit your URL to Blogs That Follow, a link directory exclusive to Do Follow Bloggers. Help us and we’ll help you! Eventually, the link directory aims to be your reference to check on the blogs that support Do Follow Bloggers. For at the end of the day, your time is precious. Reading and commenting to blogs that have the No Follow turned on will not amount to anything from the search engine’s perspective…

Spread the word. Make a stand. “U comment, I Follow…”

What if my blog is using a wordpress plugin that will remove the nofollow after 3 legitimate comments by that user?

    7. admin Says:

Hi Allen. That is certainly acceptable as long as you show a “U comment, I follow” badge and underneath you can put: Comments on this blog are made DOFOLLOW for the Google Spiders after three (3) legit comments. Comments are moderated. Spam will not be tolerated.

After that, kindly submit your site to
      http://www.blogsthatfollow.com

then let us know that you did! You’re in. Good Luck.

May i will put this things in my blog too :)
BTW, will it increase technorati rank ??

    22. murad12s Says:

Hey thats great you have made it a do follow blog :)
But my question is always do u get quality comments ??
By this, will your pagerank increase ??? And if i comment these types of blog, then will my blog pagerank ang technorati rank will increase ??
Hope you will answer my question . Because I’m thinking to turn my blog into a do-follow blog .

    23. admin Says:

Hello murad 12s! Thanks for writing.

Quality comments is subjective. How you see the comment as quality or spam depends on your interpretation. Getting quality comments depends on your articles too. People will add a comment on an article if it is relevant to them.

When you become a Do Follow blogger, I suggest you activate your comment moderation so you can determine which one is a true comment and which one is spam or junk. With comment moderation, you are in control with what you think is quality comment or not.

Here in Blogs That Follow, we get spam comments a LOT everyday. It is important to screen comments so only quality or relevant comments show up.

Becoming a Do Follow blogger is win-win for both the blogger and the commenter. It means you think that the comment with the URL link is important, so with out the rel=nofollow tag, Google and other search engines think that that comment is important too.

By getting more comments on your site, Google and other search bots will think that your site has some good following and will eventually help in your Page rank.

Technorati works independent of Do Follow and Page rank. It doesn’t have an effect whether you’re a Do follow blogger or not. Your Technorati rating will only increase if more people actually link you on their site by putting you in their blog roll or by including your URL as a hyperlink or anchored text in an article in their blog and or if they favorite you in Technorati.

Hope you would consider the advantages of becoming a do follow blogger. Don’t forget to submit your site to http://www.blogsthatfollow.com once you decide to join! Thanks again and more power.

^ I agree with admin. I have ever experienced trouble moderating comments when I used WP. Lots of spam on comments everyday. It needed more time on moderating comments on my blogs. I should read it one by one, quite tired. Once I approved a good comment but few days later, someone posted the same/exact comments with different name and links. he/she might just copy and paste the comment.

    25. Puneet Says:

hi there … the same prob i too get for my blog like “rienarry” is going through … so wats the way to get out of this ?

Daily more then 50 spam comments i receive on my blog …. m tired of it … but i will try out the way of ” Allen ” said for using WP .. “will remove the nofollow after 3 legitimate comments by that user”

i will try this out and will write my xperience out here ;)

    26. claudia Says:

I took of the nofollow tags from my other blog and it increased the number of backlinks. Now I am going to do the same with my new blog but I have to find a new plugin. I didn´t like the other one.
      Nice post!
