That’s great SEOjr! Might also want to consider submitting your link to http://www.blogsthatfollow.com seeing as you’re already a do follow blogger. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Happy Holidays!

i don’t use badges in my site but i am honest enough to enable dofollow unlike others out there who brag the badge but have Nofollow link attribs in their site… i think these are no less than con men and women of the blogosphere.

    4. admin Says:

Hi jessie. In fairness to those who have the badges, it is simply promoting and supporting the movement. It is the same thing as widgets on one’s site isn’t it? It tells your readers that you’re a member of blogcatalog for example or in the case of the badge, it simply says that comments are made Do Follow.

As for others who have the badge but still have the rel=nofollow tag- you maybe referring to blogger users whose hands are tied since Google placed it on the comments page where it can’t be edited! They support do follow BUT really have no control over all their pages. Calling them con men is pretty harsh and really uncalled for…

As for your site, sure you don’t have the badge and that is your decision but the fact that you made a page titled Do Follow Enabled plus you made a recent post about supporting it is telling the whole web that you’re a Do Follow Blogger.

We don’t see the difference between having 2 permanent posts about Do Follow and a simple small Do Follow badge… they’re the same thing and if you call it bragging, you just did too! And really there’s nothing wrong with “bragging” and spreading the word… :-)

Thanks for stopping over and sharing your voice… Happy Holiday!

    5. jessie Says:

rob, that’s your opinion…. but i view it differently. i’m sorry. but i think there’s a great distinction between supporting a movement by just showing a badge on a site from actually doing it… you may find it shocking if other bloggers like myself view this issue the same thing i do. it may be harsh and uncalled for to call them con men but i will not take back my words. a person’s conviction determines his character in life. conning is not confined to heinous crimes alone. call me unfair, call me harsh, i really don’t mind. i look in the morning everyday looking back at days past if i offended anyone through my deeds. i do what i stand for and my internet activities are not an exemption to this rule that i follow in life. that’s your take. that’s your view. i respect that. i just find it annoying you find my comments harsh. Thank you for sharing your voice as well.

    6. admin Says:

I understand where you’re coming about supporting and actually doing it. We’re pretty strict ourselves in accepting links in our site. We make sure that they actually DO Follow. It’s not just the badge but most importantly removing the nofollow tag. It bothers us alot when bloggers claim they Do Follow but they don’t and we usually call their attention on it. We write to them!

If you see others doing so, why don’t take action and let them know? Isn’t that better than name calling?

There’s nothing shocking about sharing views with other people at all. There are always two sides of the story.

Your choice of words are what surprises us. Perhaps it’s just semantics and it’s obviously not your first language but being on the net and all, we really should do away with strong words like that.

Sure, sure a person’s conviction determines his character in life but what separates a true gentleman from being rude, arrogant and self righteous is his sensibility and decorum especially in dealing with people he hardly knows. It’s called etiquette.

Conning or deception by the way is hardly a heinous crime- not even remotely close. So not sure why you would compare it to that…

Well, it wasn’t our intention to annoy you. if you respect our opinion as you say you do, then you wouldn’t take our rebuttal so personally.

We are not offended in anyway by this… We wish you well!

      I support this movement.
I already edited my html to “do follow”

    8. Dara Says:

Nice of you to put these up. It also does irritate me when nofollow blogs put up these badges. Why is it so hard to just be honest with people? It will make me stop reading a site altogether, just for the principle.
