What’s Microsoft Doing in Search Business with Bing?

Microsoft deployed Bing, a new search decision experience, worldwide at http://www.Bing.com. Bing takes a new approach to helping customers use search to make better decisions, focusing initially on four key user tasks and related areas: making a purchase, planning a trip, researching a health condition or finding a local business.
This is from Microsoft’s latest press release. We are left wondering what is Microsoft doing in Search business dominated by Google? Even Yahoo couldn’t touch Google in search. There was Cuil which was all hype and then Scour. We are still using Scour and enjoy it yet even we find ourselves “Googling” every so often.
This habit of “googling” is as easy as 1-2-3 to any web user. It’s as natural as opening up the browser and start clicking through google.com. How does one breakaway from that? Why would one want to try typing bing.com instead of google.com? We are not sure what Microsoft is cooking up in their sleeves with this new search portal. However, we’re not buying into it.
We checked the site and we’re not impressed. Google or Scour for that matter serves our needs and don’t see why we would need bing. Try the site anyway. Might work for you. Let us know! To read more what Scour is, check out our previous post about it.
